As spring gets closer, now is the time to start thinking about your spring cleaning tasks. Spring cleaning can be as simple as tidying up each room in your home or can include a full refresh like making larger renovations to prepare for summer.
Spring Cleaning Tips
If you’re looking to freshen up your home as you do a little spring cleaning here are some tips to get you started on cleaning some of those “high-use” spaces in your home.
Kitchen sink: Try running a few lemons through your garbage disposal to get rid of unpleasant odors.
Microwave: Trying to get a deep clean and remove stains? Fill a microwave-safe bowl with 1 cup of water, cut-up lemon, lime, orange, or several tablespoons of vinegar, and run on high for several minutes. Be sure to let it cool before opening the door.
Countertops: Be sure to treat your stone counters to restore shine and help repel stains.
Cutting boards: Remove tough marks with the cut side of a lemon. Sprinkle salt or baking soda first for extra strength.
Linens: Wash and refresh bulky items like pillows and comforters. Then, use the air-only cycle on your dryer for an extra fluff and refresh on other items like curtains, drapes, and throw pillows.
Mattress: Vacuum and sanitize your mattress to remove some of the build-up of dirt and dust.
Makeup Brushes: Use Dawn dish soap or baby shampoo to break down an oil-based foundation. Dry laying down on a paper towel

Replace the Windows

Freshen the Paint
If dusting and spot cleaning walls still isn’t doing the trick, it might be time to refresh the color. A fresh coat of paint can go a long way in totally transforming a space.
